We believe it is our responsibility to assist families in the education and growth of their children academically, spiritually, emotionally, socially and physically. Our approach to education is to empower each child to make responsible and appropriate decisions, perform to the best of their ability in all endeavors, and gain the confidence and knowledge for success in the next stage in their education.
Prayer and Catholic-Christian values are at the heart of everything that we do at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School. Students in Pre-K through grade eight attend Mass weekly. Students also participate in many special religious services throughout the year. Rosary, Stations of the Cross, May Crowning, First Eucharist and the Sacrament of Reconciliation are but a few. Our peer ministry program provides our older students with the opportunity to actively minister to our younger students.
Peer Ministry Program
Peer ministry matches older students with younger students. Together, peer ministry partners participate in organized activities that are designed to help each student grow emotionally, spiritually, socially, and morally.
It is the goal of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart to provide a nurturing Catholic-Christian environment where all students have the opportunity to grow spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually. In the spirit of justice, every student is entitled to a classroom environment that is conducive to learning. Each teacher at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart sets goals, guidelines, and policies that are consistent with the mission of our school. It is important that parents, teachers, administrators, and staff support each teacher’s efforts to run an orderly, respectful, and disciplined classroom.
At Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, students will be taught to be responsible for their actions. Every student in our school is expected to demonstrate the following:
- Respect for God and the religious values and practices of the Catholic Church
- Respect for themselves, for others, and for personal and school property
- Courtesy towards authority, adults, and each other
- Obedience to rules and regulations
- Kindness in speech, action, and attitude
